About telecom

The communication system is very much important to make more effective the operational, intelligence, investigation-enquiry and all the administrative activities of the Bangladesh Police. Police Telecom unit is a specialized unit of Bangladesh Police, which unit is responsible to install wireless communication network all over Bangladesh for police and also responsible for maintaining and operating the wireless communication system for all the units of Bangladesh Police. As a part of developing the communication system the Police Telecom has introduced the DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) system, digital telephone exchange and other latest sophisticated solutions.

Besides these the Police Telecom has taken approach to introduce several information technology (IT) based information management systems. The police Telecom has been conducting different training such as Basic Wireless Operator training, Radio Mechanic, Mast Mechanic training to operate and maintain the wireless communication system. This unit also conducts several computer/IT training to the police members of all units to facilitate computer based office management. There 2308 skilled officer-forces of Police Telecom are dedicated to operate and maintain the Police Wireless Communication system and IT systems under the supervision of respected Additional IGP (Telecom).
